In Restorative yoga we focus on floor stretching which allows us to remove effort from the body. This focus on floor based shapes, also allows us a mental pause from effort. We are still gently stretching and nourishing tissues and muscles, but at the same time feeling completely relaxed. Bolsters and blankets are used to support the body to assist this stretching and allowing you to feel relaxed, warm and comfortable. In this way you are able to sink and settle into the stretch for some time. Enjoy the slower class rhythm that allows for more focused breathing, meditative moments and relaxing spaces that promote healing.

Restorative Yoga at The Yoga Creative is as much a therapeutic practice for health as a gentle yoga stretch class. The bolsters and blankets we use to open up the body also allow any body shape to be adapted to the poses. At the Yoga Creative we realise every body is different and needs to be supported in its own way.

When we use these gentle stretch and relax techniques we lower the blood pressure and this in turn elevates and stabilises our mood. In our Busy world we need time out to connect with ourselves leaving us feeling nourished refreshed and healed.
