Jacqui is a Yoga and Meditation teacher with over 20 years’ teaching experience. She enjoys teaching yoga classes, workshops and retreats, as well as offering workplace wellness seminars.
After being initially introduced to Transcendental Meditation by her parents as a 17 year-old, Jacqui first discovered Gita Yoga in her early 20’s. Practicing a once a week in the office gym, Jacqui recalls “I remember thinking the feeling yoga gave me was so incredibly good I wanted to have that feeling every day of my life, not just once a week after yoga class!”
This inspired her to do Yoga training with the Gita International in 1999. She has since gone on to study Meditation, Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation, Progressive Yoga Relaxation and Yogic Philosophy. In recent years she has enjoyed studying the Krishnamacharya approach to yoga, utilising slow steady movements – led by the breath – to create a wonderfully calming cohesion between body and mind.
With a firm understanding that yoga and meditation are accessible to everyone (no matter how flexible the body or how busy the mind!), Jacqui offers her classes in sensitive and insightful way. She delights in sharing the joy of yoga and mindfulness with others and is especially interested in helping people find peace of mind in these busy, modern times in which we live.
